Book promo, take 1

As some of you may know, I'm one of the contributors to an anthology coming out later this year:

In two mated anthologies, ten female authors (the Yin Book) and ten male authors (the Yang Book) worked together to interweave stories stemming from a single location and event. Think Rashomon meets Run Lola Run with a dash of Spiderman-meets-Batman. Those of you who like my flash fiction should note that my story in this is a full short story, ~4000 words. The longer form gave me a chance to be horribly vicious and psychotic to allow my characters to fully develop their own unique personalities.

The stories are complete or nearly so, and in the e.mails among the group, our editors, Jodi Cleghorn and Paul Anderson, are pulling back the curtain to give us writers a peek at their Ultra Secret Plan For World Domination And High Amazon.com Ranking. Very cool!

Go over to the Chinese Whisperings site and check it out. You'll find a lot of familiar names among the list of authors for both books. There's a lot of info about me and all the other authors, in case you just can't get enough of us via our blogs & websites.

===== Feel free to comment on this or any other post.

  1. As a lucky writer who got to read your story early, Tony, I agree that your were particularly vicious--I mean, your characters were particularly vicious--I mean, it's one of my favourite things you've ever written. Your fans will love it.

  2. Thanks Ganymeder!

Jen B: I laughed out loud for a long time at your comment! The best part about that story is that, unlike zombies or teenage vampires, it's perfectly within the realm of possibility. That makes it all the more horrible, but keeps it "literary"!

    Ha!

  3. I think that's why I liked it, too. It felt really real, and I actually *liked* the guy who ended up being the worst. That's the best kind of twist.
