Very vivid - the image of 'buckles and boots all shined' seemed to set up the sound of brushing your boots clean..and that noise soldiered onto the end..Jae
This reminds me of something that could have been written by one of the poets from WWI. Pity that nothing's changed after all these years. Beautifully done.
I love the quick feel of this poem, Tony. I think this expresses the soldier's life perfectly. It's get things done, try to forget yourself and get into action. There's so much here. I could go on and on. Love it.
