  1. Bang on! Most of my friends have a "second job" in arts & crafts pursuits, and it's always weird trying to explain that to people who don't do that. At best it's "that's nice you have hobbies" [shudder], at worst they call you a dilettante or a loser for not being mega rich and famous.

    1. For people who don't actually have passions they want to pursue, seeing it in others is just... weird.

  2. I absolutely love that! I started out wanting to climb that ladder, until I realized that wasn't who I was. I still have to work outside the home (for now, anyway) but I'm doing it in a company I like, with people I enjoy working with and doing stuff I love (graphic design, web design, photography, etc.)

    1. The time and effort involved in really thinking about what you want out of life is never wasted... unless you don't act on the conclusions you come to.

  3. So glad you shared this, Tony, I just love it (and will have to reread numerous times!) :)

Taking it from someone who used to have a freelance crafting business and had to dial it back to just a "hobby", it's so hard! Rewarding, but hard to find a job that allows one to be able to keep it up and at the same time have the ability to, you know, buy food and stuff...
